Legitimate Online Business - Take The Guess Work Out

Looking for a legitimate online business? Not quite sure where to start? In this article I'll give you some ideas of what you can do to start a legitimate business and what you should avoid. If you follow this advice you could be well on your way to financial freedom, if you ignore this advice you'll most likely be heading in the other direction.

Two of the most popular businesses to start are affiliate marketing and network marketing. Affiliate marketing is a business model where you get paid a commission for selling someone else's product or service. When you do it online the only 'selling' you have to do is to get traffic to the website where that product is being sold.

Network marketing is where you sign up other people to join your business and you each buy a certain amount of product from your company every month. The more people you sign up, the bigger your organization and since you get a commission on everything the people in your organization buy, the more money you can make.

Both of these business models are great because they're easy to learn how to do and they take very little start up capital. Generally for affiliate marketing you'll want some money to buy a course that will teach you a method for getting traffic to your website and some money for advertising (you'll get access to a free website for whatever product you are promoting).

For network marketing you'll usually need to do the same thing for advertising as with affiliate marketing and you'll also need to buy some product from your company every month (that shouldn't be a problem since you want to join a company who has products you like and use anyway).

Now, here are some things you can't do if you want to be successful:

1. Stay far away from any company or course that 'guarantees' you'll make 'X' amount of money in a certain period of time. Even if their product is amazing they can't guarantee a thing because they don't know you. They have no idea how hard you'll work or how seriously you'll take your business.

2. This is a business, treat it that way. Find one course to show you how to drive traffic to your website and go. Don't skip from one 'sure thing' to the next.

3. Once you get really good at one method of driving traffic (with most online businesses this is your primary job) find another way to get traffic, buy a course and learn it inside and out too.

4. With affiliate marketing you'll probably want to sell many products at the same time to make the kind of money you want to make. Don't try to start off this way though, learn how to do it by starting with one product. Once you're making money add another product and keep adding until your income is at the level you want.

5. It won't happen overnight!!! I don't care what anyone tries to tell you. It can happen in weeks or months depending on how hard you work and how quickly you master the skills, but it will take time.

Finding a legitimate online business isn't hard as long as you remember that you don't get something for nothing. If it seems too good to be true it probably is, keep looking.
