Naturegirl, if you want to be depressed about view counts even more, check out the meter for a song called "J'en ai marre" by a young French singer named Alizee...one version has over 10.5 million hits. I don't think it's based on musical talent.

love this song. i used to listen to it while i cleaned by guinea pig's cage. i stopped listening to the indigo girls when she died but i started again and this song always reminds me of my guinea pig. it may sound silly, but i cry when i listen to this song because of memories of my guinea pig.

I have a BA in lit, which makes me an amateur poetry critic *grin sheepishly* and I don't believe two men _would_ have written this song. The closest I have seen was Billy Pilgrim, and guess what, Kristian Bush is now mega famous because he teamed up with Kristen Hall and Jennifer Nettles, two more players who came from the woman-centered music scene in Decatur. There would be no Kristen Hall w/o the IG (they got her over her fear of being on stage) and without that there would be no Sugarland.

m7lists: I said "please bear with me" - and you didn't. It wasn't a feminist statement. I just notice a huge contrast in the number of views of this versus, say, Bon Jovi "Wanted: Dead or Alive". It's all about marketing and images, and what America views as "sexy".

Naturegirl, maybe they weren't popular, maybe they had bad record deals, maybe they fought success, maybe a hundred other reasons why nature didn't have a lot of 12415 views for them. Not everything on earth is a conspiracy.

Please bear with me - I'm not a feminist, but I know what I'm seeing and hearing - and if Emily and Amy were a couple of guys, this would have received far more than 12,415 views.
