My great grandfather ran the local bank in the small town of Stevenson Washington and pretty much did the same thing here when the depression hit. Saved the bank and saved the town from disaster.Bank of Stevenson would later be sold to First Independent Bank in the 1980's or something.

For another great Lionel Barrymore film, check out "You Can't Take It with You" (1938). It's another Fank Capra film, also starring a much younger James Stewart. It's a wonderful movie. While you're at it, check out 2 other Fank Capra films: "Lost Horizon" (1937) and "Arsenic and Old Lace" (1944). All are must-see.

Isn't there a clip where George Bailey tells Mr Potter about people owning homes too? George tells him how it's a grace for people to be able to own a home. That still reigns supreme today.

Wasn't "Potter"(Lionel Barrymore) Drew's Great Grandfather? I know she's related to him somehow.
