Amen to the old shows such as this and today's. Green Acres had to have been my favorite. Today's "comedy" shows add the laugh tracks. But they give you nothing to laugh at. TV land has really gone down hill over the past year or so.

Over the years I've sent emails to TV Land about airing the b&W shows to no avail. I'd take Pettticoat Junction over bad reality shows and cut up commercial full movies from the 1980s any day!!!

I agree with that 100%

Was she on "Burns And Allen" too?

TV Land should air the b&W episodes, it would be a lot better than some of the crap they air now!!!!!

Like with most of the shows on in the mid-60s, the B&W episodes of "Petticoat Junction" are better than the color ones, but were rarely seen in syndication, because stations thought people would rather see bad later episodes just because they were in color.(Also, aside from doing Flintstones voice work in the 60s, Benaderet was also the main female voice for Warner Bros. cartoons from 1953-55. She was replaced by June Foray when her Burns & Allen Show workload got too heavy.)

As a result, Bea Benaderet got Cousin Pearl, Irene Ryan became Granny and the rest, as they say, is history :-D

I also recently learned she was Paul Henning's original choice for Granny on The Beverly Hillbillies, but it was decided she was too busty to play a little old mountain granny LOL LOL LOL
