I grew up on these and wish they were still on tv for my 6 year old. You learned from them and they were wholesome. I still remember most of the lyrics and it really sparked my interest in history.

Why do we not have anything like this anymore? I think we definately do dumb things down for our kids these days and there's simply no need to. It's like we don't think they're capable of learning and that's an insult to them. I've started showing these to my five year old and he's hooked. Why shouldn't he know what a conjunction is? Shows like the Muppets, vintage Sesame Street, School House Rock, make it fun to learn but expose kids to a world of music styles and cultures. I'm going old school |
