3 volts X 3 = 9 volts The bulb should for 9 volts... It's better to get an halogen bulb for the lamp and two Ni-MH 2000 mAh rechargeable batteries, it's nice light.

works well enough, but the bulb lasts only a few minutes. The batteries are way more than 4$ by the way.

The flashlight worked great but I ran into an issue. More wattage equals more heat. The light bulb ended up burning the housing. I was just wondering about any suggestions on the issue
